Meet Dr. Gayatri Mago – Specialist Orthodontist

The Beginning

More than 12 years ago, my journey as a specialist orthodontist began with a simple but powerful dream — to create healthy, beautiful smiles that last a lifetime. I trained extensively and earned Memberships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow, equipping myself with the skills to treat everything from early childhood malocclusions to complex adult bite problems.

From the start, I was fascinated by how much orthodontics could do — not just to straighten teeth, but to improve breathing, jaw function, and overall confidence. This inspired me to dive deep into early and interceptive orthodontics: using habit-breaking appliances, airway-improving devices, myofunctional therapy, and growth-modification appliances to guide a child’s facial development and prevent more severe problems later in life.

The Present

Today, after more than a decade of experience across the UAE, I treat a full spectrum of patients — children, teens, and adults — using every modern orthodontic approach:
Metal and ceramic braces for reliable results.
Self-ligating systems (like Damon) for more efficient, comfortable treatment.
Clear aligners (like Invisalign) for nearly invisible smile transformations.
I also work on complex multidisciplinary cases, aligning teeth as the first step of a larger plan — setting up restorative work like veneers, crowns, or implants for long-term health, function, and preservation of natural tooth structure.

My practice goes beyond teeth:
I help patients with TMJ pain, providing custom splints, dietary advice, and exercises to reduce discomfort and improve quality of life.
I offer anti-snoring devices and mandibular advancement appliances to manage sleep apnea for both adults and children.
I collaborate with oral and maxillofacial surgeons on orthognathic cases to improve both bite and facial harmony.

The Future

What I’ve learned over the years is that orthodontics is not just about moving teeth — it’s about building trust and teamwork with every patient. Treatment often spans many months or even years, and the patient’s motivation is just as important as the doctor’s skill.
This realization has shaped my future path. I am currently pursuing formal education in Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney to better understand human behavior, trust-building, and motivation. My goal is to make every treatment journey not just technically successful, but emotionally supportive and empowering — so patients feel like true partners in creating their best smile.

Looking ahead, I remain committed to delivering cutting-edge orthodontics with empathy, ensuring long-term results, regular follow-ups, and a lifetime of confident smiles.
